Art of Speaking

The human voice is an instrument, perhaps the most powerful instrument that we use to communicate with others. It could start a war or end it. It can win millions of hearts or can destroy millions of lives. But the thing is not everyone’s speech has that effect charisma over others. So what is the reason that only a few among us possess the Art of Speaking?

Art of Speaking

Speaking or public speaking is an art. And like in every other form of art; there are few things that we have to understand, learn & practice to master such skill.

So, how can we speak powerfully that make difference/ change in the world?

We need to understand a few sorts of speaking ways or habits of saying things.

Art of Speaking

Talking things/someones did or habit behind the back, when they are not present, has become a popular habit. We all know that it is not a nice habit because a person just gossip to you about someone is probably gossip about you someplace else

Negative speaking:

People usually fall into this habit. It is very hard to listen to the person who speaks negatively even for the neutral scenario.

Art of Speaking

That’s another form of negative speaking. It has become second nature to the complaint, whether it is about sports, politics, society, events, etc. It rather brings misery than a joy to the listeners.

Giving excuses:

We have all been speaking in this manner now and then some point in life. This type of speaking manner reflects escapism from speakers’ own responsibilities & and the nature of blaming others for the situations/ issues/ problems of their life. It is very hard to listen to someone with speaking like that.

Lying / exaggerating:

Art of Speaking

This is the way of speaking usually peruse to gain the attention of others. Just because they do not have something interesting to say; so they lie or in some cases, exaggerate things from the factual, just retain their popularity. Though these kinds of speakers are probably successful at first as soon as the truth unfolds itself, the listener doesn’t follow and respect them.

We need to learn, practice, and adopt these positive ways of speaking if we want our speech to be powerful and capable enough to make a change in the world.
Be honest:

Public Talking Expressing

Be clear and honest about what you have in your mind. It doesn’t mean to be harsh to others and speak of your mind. The truth can be presented With warmth in a caring way also.

Be yourself:

Again this doesn’t mean that one should speak, what he or she thinks is right. As we discussed earlier do not lie or exaggerate things about yourself or the situations of your life. It is actually standing by your truth; who you are.

Public Talking Expressing

Do/Be what you say:

Always keep the integrity of the words you spoke. Do what you say to others and be that person you wish expect to become other. People do not trust those, whose action doesn’t match with their words.

Be kind/lovable:

Speak in a manner of wishing people well. Be polite about the truth you are telling people. Because it will be impossible to judge or lie about people when you are wishing them well.

In the end, the most important thing is not just speaking to people but also how you are those things to them. These simple steps are keys to master the art of speaking
