Solar Farms/ Solar Plants
Solar energy is with us since the beginning, but we have started to understand its importance and application as a sustainable energy source for the last few decades. Compared to other Power plants; The Solar power plants work on the principle of converting radiation energy from solar rays into electricity using Photovoltaic cells. Earlier application of these cells is only in smaller size appliances like calculators. Later the development of Photovoltaic Cells extent their application in the production of electricity.
Initially, the cost of solar power plans was much higher, but various studies and researches have made an improvement in developing more efficient power plants in a few previous years. Since the world has experienced the drastic results of climate change due to the vast usage of fossil fuels the solar energy is one of the options for our harmless, infinite, and sustainable energy resources.
Here is the list of few solar power plants, largest in the world.
Tengger Desert Solar Park – 1547 MW
This Solar power plant is the worlds’ largest one with a capacity of 1547 MW which is the largest output than another plant exist.
Kurnool Ultra Mega Solar Park – 1000 MW
This solar park situated in the State of Andhra Pradesh (India) covering a total of 24 Km. Sq. area. With 4 million solar panels and 2000 Km of circuit cables, this solar plant can generate 1000 MW which is sufficient to power the Entire Kurnool district.
Datong Solar Power Top Runner Base – 1000 MW
In the 2017 group named panda green energy with United Nations development program; establish 1000 megawatt capacity solar operated power plant in 248 acres in the Dotang region of china. They also planned to establish these types of a number of power plants across the country; with the joint venture of the Chinese government
Longyangxia Dam Solar Park – 850 MW
This solar farm is situated near Qinghai province, china having a capacity of power more than 20000 houses & governs by the state government. The approx cost of creating this solar park is around 90 million USD.
RewaUltra Mega Solar Park – 750 MW
This Solar plant covers a total of 6.4 km sq. area of the Rewa region of Madhya Pradesh, India. This project is a joint venture between the state government of Madhya Pradesh and Solar energy Corporation of India
